The castle was built in the 1920s and houses an impressive collection of Roman, medieval, and Renaissance artifacts. The Castle houses the Hammond Research Corp. where Dr. Hammond produced over 400 patents for over 800 inventions and he is second to Thomas Edison in the number of patents; he was one of America's foremost inventers. He is known as the "Father of Remote Control" A self-guided tour of eight rooms and several smaller rooms and passage is offered to the public. You will also be treated to a view of the beautiful castle grounds with a splendid display of the Atlantic Shore Line.
