Built in 1749 for the Spooner family and was their home for more than 200 years. Members of the families included merchants, sea captains, and Bourne Spooner founder of Plymouth Cordage Company, once the world's largest rope manufacturer. Authentic furnishing and family heirlooms tell the story of changes in taste, occupations and daily activities that have taken place in Plymouth from pre-revolutionary to the 1950s. Guided tour, special exhibit of anitque toys and a lovely walled garden.
